Ridgeway...Ouray

Ridgeway...Ouray

July 11

Met Ken as I was checking out this morning.

He is on a motorbike.

Started in Connecticut and will finish up in San Fransisco.

Great guy to chat with.

And then, as I was getting ready to pedal out of the parking lot, Larry comes and says hello.

He is from SF and visiting relatives in the area.

He took my pic and I gave him a card.

He was shaking his head that I had come this far on a bike.

I have taken the meds a couple times now.

Seem to be working as the pain under the arm where the sore is located is less than yesterday.

Actually seems to be healing.

Why under the same arm the last three times?

The first time was up north when David and I were working on the home in the woods.

Went to Republic.

Next time was at the farm.

Now this time on the journey to Albuquerque.

I may need to get it checked out when I am done with all of the traveling this summer.

I felt ok when I woke up this morning.

Had a yogurt, orange juice and oatmeal.

Last night I had rice, veggies and meat.

Twice!

Cooked in the room.

Well, actually, microwaved.

So, I thought, no problem making it to Ouray.

I am all powered up.

Physically and spiritually after having time with the Lord.

Sluggish.

Dizzy.

Headache.

What is the deal Lord?

Stopped at Ridgeway.

Got a small sandwich and some tea thinking it would help.

Sat and rested for a time.

Looked at a couple of sporting stores.

I thought to myself...

Well, self, ten miles to Ouray.

We can do this.

It is not even two in the afternoon.

Not a problem.

Problem!

Big time!

Still dizzy.

Everything I eat not sitting right in the holding tank.

Even had a difficult time getting off the bike to remove my rain gear.

Just about fell over.

This blog is all about telling the truth.

And that is the truth.

Every place I stopped to ask about pitching a tent...

Full.

I just wanted to lay down horizontal and not wake up any time soon.

Is that too much to ask?

Guess so.

Again, the Lord must shake His head in wonderment at our ways of thinking and figuring.

I pull into what appears to be a campsite but only for RVs.

Walk in to the office and Randy asks if I am looking for a spot to pitch my tent.

He gives me the price and I readily agree.

Then he notices the shirt I am wearing.

"This shirt is illegal..."

Come to find out that he and his wife Kashka are believers in Christ.

And they have been operating and running this campground for the last nine years.

He turns and says I can camp here tonight for free.

Really?

Is that you again, Jesus?

And they invited me to join them at church in the morning in Ouray.

With a potluck afterwards.

Good thing I have some bananas I can share!

I still do not feel well.

Still have a headache.

My eyes hurt.

And I will continue to thank the Lord.

I stand in awe of the goodness of his testimony.

Continuing to find joy in the most odd and wondrous circumstances,

D.
