On to Buffalo CG.....

On to Buffalo CG...

June 27

Today was hard.

Must have complained every other minute.

Got maybe thirty miles.

The traffic was crazy.

The road was rutted and ill fixed.

I was discouraged, hot and tired.

Could not get any speed up on the recumbent.

Yet.....

Why did I not remember the wonderful night's sleep?

The tasty cinnamon roll I had for breakfast?

Going up the highway and four ram sheep following beside me in the field?

I would stop, they would stop.

I would go, they would go.

Lasted about a half mile.

Getting treated to the beauty of creation all around me?

There was so much for which to be thankful.

And I was complaining about not going fast enough or not making enough distance.

I was concerned about finishing a goal.

And then....

I arrived at Buffalo Campground.

Met Gordon, the camp host for one of the sections.

Asked about where to pitch a tent.

Took me to a site, raked out the tent pad, and made sure all was good.

Got some fresh water and guzzled it down.

Was nice to have something cold going down the throat.

Also met Joe and Patti who were in the spot next to where I was tenting.

He had some powerful stories to tell of how the Lord intervened in his life.

A great time of sharing.

They truly were great encouragers to me.

Joe offered me food.

I declined.

He offered again.

Very generous and gracious.

This morning, the 28, when I went over to say my farewells to them, Joe prayed a wonderful, simple, yet powerful prayer over me and the ride.

The Lord is showing me to be thankful in all things.

Even if I do not get the miles "I" think "I" should be achieving each day.

The people I am meeting far outweigh all the other details.

Continuing to joy in the journey,

D.
