June 28
Last night while visiting with Joe and Patti, they told me of a scenic byway which took me by two falls, upper and lower, a mile apart.
Mesa Falls.
Glad I took their advice and went on 47 instead of staying on 20.
The upper falls were down hill a mile.
Beautiful!
The ride back up was, well, exhilarating, and grueling.
It was what I needed.
There were a few hills on the ride.
It was longer to go this route.
But more than worth it.
Pedaling into Aston, I stopped to look at my maps.
And see where I might be able to pitch my tent.
I noticed a pizzeria and since I was hungry, I slowed down.
Asked those working on decorating the windows outside about a place to camp.
They recommended a place three miles down the road.
Of course I was hungry, so went in and had a salad and sandwich.
Mighty tasty!

Bicyclists, or anyone passing through here, should stop by and get your fill of good food.
So there you have it.
The last few days in a nut shell.
I am still pedaling and will be going down through the Palisades area.
Missing two passes by going this route!
Follows the river so should be scenic.
I am not sure about the time frame for getting to Albuquerque.
And am just fine with that.
Leave a comment if you like.
Continuing to joy in the journey,
D.
