30+ miles.
Went to town today to specifically ride out along the road to Loomis.
And that I did.
It was a truly scenic ride.
Went by Many Lakes Recreation area. Lots of fishermen as it was the opening weekend.
I really need to remember to take pictures as I am on these rides.
Telling about the scenery...
the lakes...
the people...
the orchards...
the smells...
Well, it is just plain hard to do so in words.
It was a beautiful road to ride on and all of the petrol/desiel powered vehicles which passed gave me a nice wide way.
One part of the ride, where I got to make sure my brakes worked well was....
when I was coming down the long hill back towards Tonasket.
I was going along a pretty good speed, as no one was behind me, so I was taking full advantage of the lane...
When what to my wondering eyes should appear...
but a deer standing right in the middle of the road. And one in the pasture looking out over the scene without a care.
I quickly slowed down, while the deer looked with astonishment at something coming toward it, which was not a vehicle!
It ran from the middle of the road off into the pasture on the far side.
I have no idea what the other deer did!
But I do know my brakes work well :)
Continuing to joy in the journey,
D.
